The SGP provides technical, advisory and financial support to local communities and public non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the most vulnerable areas of Kazakhstan.
As part of the implementation of the Sixth Phase of the SGP, 49 projects worth US$ 1,537,297 were financed.
The Seventh phase of the SGP (2022-2026) covers seven priority landscape territories in the steppe and desert ecosystems of Kazakhstan.
The main areas of work of the SGP of the Seventh Phase are mitigation of the effects of climate change and reduction of land degradation.
The SGP will contribute to the achievement of key indicators such as the restoration of 15,000 hectares of degraded land, the application of improved resource management practices on an area of 10,000 hectares, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 5,064 tons of CO2.
