The current Seventh Operational Phase of the GEF SGP is being implemented from 2022 to 2026 and focuses on the sustainable development of local communities in seven landscape areas of steppe and desert ecosystems of Kazakhstan. The geography of the implementation of the Seventh phase covers: Abai, Akmola, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Jetısw, Turkestan and Ulytau regions.

As part of the current operational phase, project proposals for participation in the grant competition are accepted from July 19 to August 18, 2024 inclusive. More information about the application conditions can be found here.
